Job Description
**This is a Monday through Friday position from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. shift. **
Position Summary:
Responsible for the repairs and maintenance of all facilities & equipment. Performs a wide
variety of maintenance duties. Assist and support Packaging Machine operator in packaging
high quality products and operating the Packaging Room in a safe, efficient manner.
Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for the repairs of all plant equipment & building facilities.

Responsible for the prompt and effective response and resolution to work orders (checklist & reports).

Conducts regularly and visual inspection (reports) of facility/plant equipment in order to determine repairs and communicates potential equipment failure and/or issues.

Responds to all maintenance related work orders.

Maintain sanitation equipment within Plant and support Plant Master Sanitation.
-
When necessary, act as a backup for Packing Machine Operator and perform/assume “packing machine operator” duties and responsibilities.
Key Activities:
-
Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs interior/exterior facilities.

Tests circuits to locate problems, replacing switches, outlets and light bulbs.

Repairs pipe leaks and unplugs drains and fixtures, replaces valves, caulks.

Frame walls for drywall, hangs and finishes drywall.

Operates snow removal equipment, shovels snow from entrances and sidewalks, and spreads salt and other related grounds tasks.

Operate new Form/Seal Packaging Room machine.

Complete all required Master Sanitation Schedule activities.

Maintain sanitation standards throughout the area.

Maintain operation of double chamber and if necessary troubleshoot as required.

Reports and recommends facility improvements to Maintenance Supervisor.

Performs mechanical repairs as needed.

Support all Plant Quality programs.

Follow all position related GMP’s, sanitation procedures, and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors.

Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.

Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Skills Required:

Ability to read charts and machine settings.

Ability to troubleshoot, operate and make repairs on plant equipment.

Ability to upkeep and operate facility equipment.

Necessary Experience:
-
Previous mechanical repair experience.
-
Knowledge of packaging equipment and procedures.
-
High School Diploma or Equivalent
-
3-5 years of maintenance experience (preferred).
-
Facility Maintenance experience (preferred).
-
Must be familiar with a wide range of skilled crafts including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Knowledgeable and/or experienced with preventative maintenance & safety procedures/programs.
