Sanitation Specialist

​Position Summary:

Assist plant personnel in implementing the Master Sanitation Schedule to clean the plant

and all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor activities to maintain the plant in a sanitary condition.

  • Monitor activities to maintain all plant equipment in a sanitary condition.

  • Monitor and document cleaning performance results against the Master Sanitation

  • Schedule.

  • Research and implement SSOP improvements.

  • Monitor financial sanitation results against plan.

Performance Metrics:

  • Efficient line operation 

  • Accident Frequency Rate 

  • Personal Attendance

Key Activities:

  • Deliver chemical throughout the plant as required.

  • Record both manual and automated sanitation systems SSOP results .

  • Maintain inventory levels as required.

  • Promote and implement safe chemical handling.

  • Support all Quality programs.

  • Monitor financial results for sanitation costs against plan.

  • Perform tests required to support all sanitation activities.

  • Follow all position related GMP’s, sanitation procedures, and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors

  • Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.

  • Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

  • All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Regulatory Inspection approval.

  • Third-party and internal audit ratings

  • Financial results.

  • Master Sanitation Schedule accuracy

  • Achieve Plant safety goals.

​

Skills Required:

  • Ability to read charts and settings

  • Ability to run titration testing equipment

  • Good verbal communication skills.

  • Good problem solving and decision making skills

  • Basic Math skills

 

Necessary Experience:

  • Previous sanitation experience is a plus.

​

Physical Abilities Needed:

  • Must be able to perform those physical duties associated with Plant sanitation activities, including lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
