Job Description

​

 

Position Summary:

Oversee cheese logistics system by coordinating shipment and distribution of goods and products. Manage patron accounts payable and communicate with customers and third-party vendors relating to milk and cheese.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage trucking schedule for bulk shred cheese as well as coordinating shipping of bulk shred to converters.

  • Manage hold inventory of product and coordinate the disposal or sale to process. Manage returned product.  

  • Manage patron accounts payable by verifying milk delivery and then processing payment to all patrons twice a month.

  • Responsible for maintaining off-site cheese inventory for WI facilities.

  • Maintain all milk documentation required for governing agencies audits.

 

Key Activities:

  • Maintain inventory of bulk shred and process at Sugar River Cold Storage for WI.

  • Be the primary contact with Flying Eagle regarding bulk shred and loads out of facility(ies).

  • Maintain bulk inventory to precise levels due to storage capacity.

  • Create pick-lists for loads of bulk shred to converters based on demand, FEFO, and hold status.

  • Handle returns from converters and execute disposition as given by operations/ QC.

  • Manage trucking schedule for Browntown, Arena, and the cold storage.

  • Maintain all data for patron payroll in Dairy.com

  • Prepare dues and statements for vendors as needed.

  • Handle payments for antibiotic loads/ communicate with insurance companies.

  • Maintains knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to milk pick-up, storage, and payment.  

  • Submit reports to governing agencies, auditors, coop, etc.

  • Provides needed administrative support to Quality department as needed for audits.

  • Other administrative duties relating to reception.

  • Provides coverage for other office positions as needed.

  • Effective Communication with employees and management.

  • Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

  • Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Performance Metrics:

  • Accuracy of patron payroll.

  • Accident Frequency Rate.

  • Personal Attendance.

 

Necessary Experience:

  • High School or equivalent.

  • Great Plains Training.

  • Dairy Experience.

  • Food Manufacturing Experience (Preferred).

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.

  • Basic math skills

  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
