Job Description
**This is a Monday through Friday position from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. shift. **
Position Summary:
Repairs and maintains equipment and infrastructure at the production facilities and warehouse operations. Performs daily and weekly preventive maintenance programs to insure efficient operation of mechanical equipment. Maintains a positive working relationship with other departments throughout the company. Responsible for all duties/task required for Maintenance Mechanic.
Primary Responsibilities:

Maintains and regularly inspects Production and Facility equipment at 21st, the Creamery and Warehouse for efficient operation (installations & repairs).

Maintains and checks tool and material inventory level. May be required to order supplies by completing requisitions and/or supply request in order to maintain a ready supply of material on hand for work assignments in the absence of Maintenance Lead & Foreman.

Prompt and effective response and resolution to work orders (checklist & reports).

Determine the best method of repairing defective tooling and what operations are needed. Troubleshoot and remedy the situation by designing, repairing or fabricating the necessary parts in the most efficient manner to minimize downtime and restore production.

Responsible for welding metal components together to fabricate or repair products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using a variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

Key Activities:

Examine and recommend whether tool repair, modification, or replacement is required on time and cost effectiveness basis.

Collaborate with Production and Engineering to develop improvements in parts or changes in operation or maintenance to reduce setup time or extend tool life.

Conducts regularly and visual inspection (reports) of facility and equipment in order to determine repairs and communicates potential equipment failure and/or issues.

Conducts preventive maintenance work required (cleaning, lubricating, greasing, oiling) to ensure optimum working order.

Follows proper operating procedures

Prioritize work orders by considering the importance of the work and the time needed to complete the work.

Recognizes and repairs malfunctions in processing, filling and ancillary equipment

Inform supervisor or management of any issues with materials or product
-
Completes all documents accurately as required.

Maintains adequate hand tool supply to perform maintenance repairs in an acceptable craftsmanship manner.

Effective Communication with employees and management

Responsible for complying to all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

Responsible for following Safety (OSHA) regulations and procedures.

Follow GMP’s, sanitation procedures, and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors.

Performs other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Maintenance Foreman, or other Management.
Skills Required:
-
Fluent in Spanish and English (preferred) (written and spoken)

Hands-on can-do orientation
-
Proficient Troubleshooting Skills (machinery & facility)

Proficient welder & fabrication of machining parts

Basic PLC Skills
-
Advanced knowledge of electrical meter and electrical troubleshooting (VOM).

Communication

Knowledge of Good Management Practices

Able to read electrical schematics and blueprints

Positive Safety attitude
Necessary Experience:
-
High School or equivalent
-
3 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent

Machine Operations (Preferred)
-
Food Manufacturing (Preferred)
-
