Position Summary:
The HR Director is a pivotal part of our team, contributing to strategic decision-making and organizational effectiveness of V&V. This role serves as a key business partner by identifying, creating, and executing HR initiatives and best practices while collaborating with department leaders to strategically implement V&V’s HR operations, encompassing talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance.
This role requires bi-weekly travel to Browntown, Wisconsin.
Primary Responsibilities:

Benefits & Compensation: review and analyze benefits market to determine employee needs, trends, regulations, and best practices. Develop competitive programs to ensure total rewards package at V&V remains competitive.

Compliance: ensure strict compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations while diligently mitigating HR related risks and upholding ethical practices.

Employee Relations: spearhead initiatives by effectively addressing and promptly resolving workplace issues, ensuring the cultivation of a healthy organizational culture that prioritizes employee well-being and satisfaction, boosting employee engagement.

Recruitment & Retention: develop and implement workforce plans aligned with organizational goals by anticipating future staffing needs and skills requirements while implementing strategies for succession planning and talent retention.

Training & Development: development of training programs, designing & implementing initiatives to enhance employee skills, concurrently supporting professional development and providing opportunities for career growth.
Key Activities:

Oversee the administration of HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, workplace safety and training & development.

Administer dynamic HR programs and policies that resonate with the organization's mission, values, and overarching goals.

Ensure alignment of HR initiatives with company objectives, fostering a positive and engaging workforce.

Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies related to HR and employment law.

Implement cutting-edge systems to streamline processes, providing comprehensive data and insightful reporting on HR activities.

Address strategic leadership of people, programs, and policies to strengthen the company’s operations.

Develop and implement department budget, policies, and procedures.

Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, modifying policies and practices as needed to maintain compliance.

Foster positive relationship with the Union. Address and resolve labor-related issues and conflicts.

Oversee safety initiatives, programs, and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:

Bilingual - fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken desired).

Highly skilled in the MS Office suite.

Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.

Ability to work flexible hours in response to issues and opportunities.

Necessary Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a relevant field. Master’s degree or HR certification preferred.

15+ years of HR management experience.
-
Comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics and the intricacies required to achieve strategic goals.
-
In-depth understanding of human resource management principles and industry best practices.

Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, guiding teams towards cohesive and effective human resources management.
-
Experience working with ADP or similar HRIS.
-
Diligent and unwavering commitment to high ethical standards in HR practices.
-
Experience supporting a food production facility preferred.
