Sales Inventory Analyst

Chicago based, Remote work possible.

Job Description

**This is a salaried Monday through Friday position from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. **

​

Position Summary:

Sales Inventory Analyst ‘s primary role is to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained at our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) partner’s warehouses; address all VMI inventory issues and concerns; provide monthly sales forecasts to the Demand Planner; address all forecast issues and concerns; and provide sales reports and analysis as needed.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Created weekly replenishment quantities for our VMI partners’ warehouses.

  • Meet with the local sales team on a weekly basis to review replenishment quantities taking into consideration inventory levels, quantities on order, and forecasted sales.

  • Analyze inventory levels and produce timely inventory reports to stakeholders.

  • Work with the Demand Planner to make sure all inventory issues/concerns are addressed.

  • Will assist with preparing periodic and ad hoc sales reports.

 

Key Activities:

  • Will update weekly file used to created recommended replenishment quantities for both of our VMI partners and will meet with the local sales managers to review and adjust as needed.

  • Will address all inventory issues and concerns impacting our VMI partners.

  • Build a working relationship with Demand Planner to review inventory and forecast information to make sure proper levels of inventory are available.

  • Analyze, research, and provide sales data as needed.

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis for customer sales reports versus budget/forecasts.

  • External Agencies (OSHA, local regulatory bodies, etc.)

  • Local Emergency Services (police, fire, ambulance, etc.)

Skills Required:

  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to quickly learn MS D365 system.

  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, organized in approach and in document maintenance

  • Ability to work in a team environment

Necessary Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but not required

  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience preferred, but not required

  • Experience with D365 preferred, but not required.

  • Experience with Vendor Managed Inventories.

  • Experience with sales forecasting.
