Job Description

**This is a Monday through Saturday position from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. shift. **

 

Position Summary:

The shuttle will transport items to and from our warehouses with a focus on timeliness and accuracy. Parcels pick up and/or items needed to daily business operations. May also be required to unload product as required.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Transports and unloads perishable product as required to storage areas.

  • Safely drives and operate a truck

  • Maintains good relations with internal and external customers through courtesy and professionalism

  • Maintains communication between all parties in order to meet and exceed expectations

  • Develop a good working knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures.

 

Key Activities:

  • Transports perishable product according to procedures and schedules.

  • Transports raw materials and different materials as transfers.

  • Maintains clean unit at all times (truck cabin and inside cargo box)

  • Use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, lifting, and use of handheld computer

  • Transports perishable products and places in appropriate location

  • Adheres to all safety rules, OSHA and DOT standards

  • Reviews truck loads in order to ensure no loading errors have occurred

  • Responsible for complying with all Safe Quality Food (SQF) polices/procedures and requirements for position.

  • Follow GWP’s, sanitation procedures, and quality procedures as set forth by QA and/or supervisors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

 

Necessary Experience:

  • Qualified applicants must have a good MVR, Class “B” CDL license

  • High School graduate with a minimum of one year in the industry

  • A criminal background and credit check will be performed for all final candidates.

  • Candidate must be able to pass a physical and drug screen and drug tests continue randomly

 

Skills Required:

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Bilingual Preferred (English and Spanish).

  • Team player.

  • Organized and efficient in the use of time.

  • Ability to Climb stairs, Bend, kneel, stoop.

  • Possess the physical ability to lift 50 pounds and repeatedly handle heavy loads during the workday.

  • Ability to work in refrigerated transitions.

  • Ability to read a map.

  • Applicants must also be dependable, organized, customer service oriented, able to work independently.

  • Practices safe driving, lifting, working and courtesy habits set fourth by the company.
